Description
Dead Vlei, or dead marsh, is located near Sossusvlei in the Namib-Naukluft National Park, Namibia. It is the remnant of an ancient and intermittently flooded marsh. These trees died from lack of water but have been preserved by the desert climate.The light-colored clay pan is surrounded by giant sand dunes.
